MIAMI – Feb 12, 2015 – Lynx Construction Management, an affiliate of The Lynx Companies, is poised to become one of the fastest growing construction companies in South Florida by exponentially growing the firm’s annual revenue through the addition of several high-impact construction projects to its portfolio in 2015. Key new projects call for new construction and renovation of properties that will bridge Miami-Dade County’s past with the future. Additionally, two of these new projects will facilitate expansion of select public facilities in the county. Lynx Construction Management first emerged seven years ago, quickly becoming a significant force in the construction industry by growing its portfolio to account for construction projects in excess of $100 million USD.

The first of new projects slated to commence in 2015 will result in the new, state-of-the-art Miami-Dade County Animal Services Shelter. Through renovation of an existing tile warehouse and distribution center on NW 78th Avenue, the new 74,000 square foot shelter facility will represent the first no-kill animal shelter opened by Miami-Dade County administration, and will increase available canine and feline adoption cages by 25% more than currently available through the County’s existing Animal Services Shelter facility in Medley, Florida.

Originally designed by Miami Beach architect and art deco visionary Henry Hohause, The Park Central Hotel is a historic property built in 1937 in the Miami Beach Architectural District. Lynx was engaged to execute the Hotel’s historical preservation, expansion and renovation, including the remodel of three iconic art deco hotels – Park Central, Heathcote and Imperial – as well as new construction of a fourth structure. The four units will form part of a single hotel property – the first of its kind on Miami Beach – that honors Park Central’s rich history in Miami Beach’s art deco movement, while expanding with Miami’s evolution.

The Borinquen Health Care Center at 3601 Federal Highway in Miami signifies another significant renovation for a building with deep roots in the Miami-Dade community. Established in 1972 as a grass-roots community effort, Borinquen Medical Centers of Miami-Dade have grown to become a Comprehensive Primary Health Care, Dental and Behavioral Health Center serving Miami-Dade County. Lynx is commissioned to conduct a complete renovation of the existing six-story main building, resulting in a state-of-the-art medical facility.

At a public level, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has awarded Lynx the role of renovating and enhancing City Hall’s structure and associated property, as well as Pelican Community Park, and Heritage Park. These new projects represent additions to Lynx’s portfolio of public-level projects, having previously worked with municipalities including Miami-Dade County, Surfside and Bay Harbor Islands.

Lynx has also completed a complete renovation for tenant AIG, located on the nineteenth floor of the Bank of America Building at 701 Brickell Avenue in Miami. Lynx will update key aesthetic and architectural elements across the 22,000 square feet occupied by the national enterprise.

Lastly, Lynx has been commissioned by Design Center Of The Americas (DCOTA) Baker Showroom to conduct a complete remodel of the existing showroom on the second floor at 1855 Griffin Road in Dania Beach. The remodeled showroom will consist of sixteen new galleries, six offices, workrooms and storage area. Multiple design and aesthetic updates will result in a fully restored design center.

“As a national company with headquarters and inception in Miami-Dade County, we feel a deep commitment to South Florida. We’re proud that key projects commissioned to Lynx Construction Management in 2015 call for the enhancement of structures with rich history in the City of Miami through new construction and restoration, while two others will benefit the community directly by expanding parks, recreational and government facilities,” stated Christopher M. Moran, President of Lynx Construction Management.

“The Lynx Companies’ portfolio of business is built around a vision of continually innovating the details for our customers’ properties,” stated Wasim J. Shomar, CEO and Chairman of The Lynx Companies. “We are proud that several key projects for Lynx Construction Management in 2015 will allow us to contribute to Miami’s evolution, while honoring the details of its rich history and identity through both renovation and new construction. We see a lot of real estate and construction growth impacting Miami – and thus, our business – and are pleased to be able to contribute to the future of the city we also call home, while preserving its identity.”
