MIAMI MUSIC PROJECT APPOINTS WASIM J. SHOMAR TO CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
MIAMI – June 18, 2015 – The Miami Music Project has named Dr. Wasim J. Shomar – Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of The Lynx Companies – to Chairman of the Board of Trustees. This appointment follows Dr. Shomar’s service as board member for the past two years, participating on the executive, board nominating, and development committees.
The Miami Music Project uses music as an instrument for social transformation, empowering children to acquire values and achieve their full potential, positively affecting their society through the study and performance of music. The organization uses music to develop values of community, sharing and teamwork, creativity, discipline, perseverance and self-esteem, to inspire children to reach excellence through their own efforts, to improve academic performance, and to strengthen the unity of families.
