SUNNY ISLES BEACH FOUNDATION’S CURATED ART WALL PROJECT TO OFFER SOLUTION TO FORMULAIC DEVELOPMENT THROUGH CREATIVE USE OF PUBLIC SPACE

MIAMI – August 4, 2015 – The Sunny Isles Beach Foundation has initiated a project to curate the artistic illustration of a wall across from N.S. Edelcup K-8 School, underwritten by local businesses, artists and patrons. The art wall murals will be transposed from the winning selections from a youth art competition celebrating the coastal life of South Florida this Fall 2015. The art wall project is part of the Sunny Isles Beach Foundation’s mission to creatively use public spaces to create quality of life and community in public spaces in the city – particularly in the face of growing development throughout South Florida.

Lynx Construction Management, an affiliate of The Lynx Companies, is one of the first South Florida-based companies committed to underwriting the art wall. Lynx Construction Management was also recently selected by the City of Sunny Isles to conduct renovation, maintenance and infrastructural repair work of the Government Center and its adjacent parking garage, as well across other related buildings, facilities and parks.

With the addition of several high-visibility projects in 2015 that range from civic (including the expansion of Miami-Dade County’s first no-kill Animal Services Shelter) to private (the expansion of the Baker Furniture showroom at the Design Center of the Americas [DCOTA]), Lynx Construction Management is exponentially growing its portfolio of construction projects, while serving its highest level vision of bridging Miami’s past with its future, while honoring its identity. Key civic projects like that of Sunny Isles allow the firm to also contribute to building a better Miami for all, directly through its project portfolio.

“We recognize a shared vision with the Sunny Isles Beach Foundation; one for a city that maintains its identity while growing, and that gets better for all its residents” stated Christopher M. Moran, President of Lynx Construction Management. “We’re proud to sponsor this unique art wall, and are looking forward to seeing the artists’ ideas come to life – and inspire the kids that attend school daily.”
